Start with a preserved foaming base
Use a ready-to-use, preserved liquid hand-soap base specifically designed for a foaming dispenser. Choose a supplier that provides a written method for adding fragrance to that exact base. This is a supplier-guided customization project, not a universal from-scratch recipe.
Do not dilute ordinary soap with water and assume it remains adequately preserved. Dilution can change preservation, consistency, and performance. Do not add tea, milk, sugar, honey, cinnamon powder, or baking extracts.
What you need
- A vegan, ready-to-use, preserved foaming hand-soap base that explicitly permits fragrance customization
- Optional: a vegan cosmetic cinnamon-roll fragrance supported for use in that exact base and in rinse-off hand soap
- A compatible foaming pump bottle, prepared according to the base supplier's hygiene instructions
- A suitable digital scale and clean, dry mixing equipment
Check ingredient lists rather than assuming a base or fragrance is vegan. Candle fragrance, food flavoring, and essential oils are not automatically suitable. If suppliers cannot confirm compatibility and provide directions, keep the base unscented or choose a finished scented hand soap.
How much fragrance?
There is no single safe drop count for every cinnamon-roll fragrance. Use the base supplier's approved formula together with the fragrance supplier's current limits for the intended rinse-off use. A fragrance safety limit is a ceiling, not a recommended dose, and does not establish compatibility or preservation in a particular base.
Do not borrow a percentage from a candle recipe or substitute cinnamon essential oil. If the approved method requires a solubilizer or another ingredient, follow the complete method. Without a supported method, do not add fragrance.
How to assemble a small trial batch
- Review the method. Confirm that the base is ready to use, intended for a foaming pump, and approved for your chosen fragrance and amount. Check mixing, temperature, packaging, and storage requirements.
- Prepare the equipment. Wash your hands and follow the supplier's cleaning and hygiene instructions. Keep equipment dry and separate from food preparation.
- Weigh accurately. Use the supplier's approved quantities and a scale precise enough for the smallest amount. Do not measure fragrance by arbitrary drops.
- Mix as directed. Follow the specified order and method. Do not add water, kitchen ingredients, or extra fragrance because the aroma seems faint.
- Assess the trial. Observe any settling time specified by the supplier. Unexpected separation, cloudiness, or pump problems mean you should consult the supplier, not add more ingredients to fix it.
- Package and label. Use a compatible foaming dispenser and record the ingredients, supplier formula, and date mixed. Label clearly as hand soap, not food.
How to use
Follow the base's handwashing directions. Wet hands, dispense the recommended amount, wash thoroughly, rinse, and dry. This is rinse-off hand soap, not a leave-on product, facial cleanser, or hand sanitizer. Stronger scent and more foam do not establish better cleansing.
Keep away from eyes and mouth and out of children's reach. Cinnamon-type fragrances can irritate some people. Stop if itching, redness, burning, or dryness develops and seek medical advice for a severe or persistent reaction. An unscented finished product is a good alternative if fragrance does not suit your skin.
Storage and refilling
Follow supplier directions for the customized formula and packaging. The original base's shelf life does not automatically apply after modification. Do not claim a tested shelf life for your home batch or rely on appearance and smell to establish microbial safety.
Do not top up a partly used bottle. Empty, clean, and dry the dispenser according to its and the soap supplier's instructions before refilling. Never add water to stretch the remaining soap or improve pumping.
