Still using mainstream lotion from the drugstore? Check the ingredients because there could be some nasty stuff hidden inside! Many traditional brands on the market include lots of ingredients made in a lab that you can't even pronounce. The saying holds true... If you can't pronounce it, don't use it.
❌Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA): endocrine disruptor
❌Triethanolamine: skin/respiratory irritants and linked to cancer
❌Parabens: disrupts hormones and is linked to breast cancer
❌Propylene Glycol: can cause rashes, eczema, and other skin irritations
❌Fragrances/Parfum: usually contains VOC releasing phthalates which are known endocrine disruptors, organ toxins, and asthma inducing
❌DMDM Hydantoin: releases formaldehyde
❌Mineral Oil/Paraffin: cancer causing and hormone disrupting (see more here)
❌Dimethicone: can cause itching, redness, irritation, and acne
Whether you put lotion on your own face and body or on your newborn baby, always read the ingredients label before you buy or apply. Always choose products with simple ingredients that you can pronounce! Simple is better!
